Currently I am using TV Pad4 + 2 router with Tomato + L2TP + vpn unlimited.
Remind you that you should use the login (UN & PW) info from Keep Solid Support in an email to you, which is a string of numbers and letters.
I use the same login info as i do for Keepsolid (VPN unlimited).
so my email addy and pw the same as when i go to keepsolid
Could you post the screen shots of your Tomato setup? Thanks
My router is at my mom's house, so I can't get a screen shot, but the set up is pretty straight forward as follows:
On front page, left side menu, go to Basic and then Network.
Under WAN/INTERNET: Type: L2TP (pick from a drop-down manual includes DNCP, PPTP.....) Username: Your username from email Password: Your password from email L2TP Server: Pick any server from the list in email other than US Use DHCP: Check Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Options: Leave blank Connect mode: Keep alive Redial Interval: 10 MTU: Default – 1460
I also confirmed that I could simply use the normal email address as the logon ID instead of the long string of characters supplied by KeepSolid support but the password must be the one supplied by them.
First I really appreciate you guys for sharing the vpn setup! I am currently using 2 router (dd-wrt) + vpn unlimited (L2TP) + tvpad 4 method but somehow everyday when I turn on my tvpad I will need to get into the router and reconnect to the vpn server. I do click the always on option and the rest of the setup are exactly the same from what Benny posted.
I have tried on different servers and still encountered the same issue. Does anyone have the same problem and how you guys solve that? Thanks a bunch and happy new year!
I'm using Torguard and got my router setup to work. Ping the Hong Kong server to get the ip address and setup the router as the video shows using L2TP.
Afterwards, setup TVPAD4 and use the 49.213.10.163 DNS. Everything works.
All, happy new year. I am making some progress. I got the VPN router to connect.. see screenshot.
However, i cant connect to any apps using the TVPAD. I am using TVPAD 4 running v.5.054 firmware.
I am nearly there!! Can someone please provide me with some details on what i have to do next. Appreciate all the help coming from this forum! many thanks!
Gqone, I changed the dns per your instructions and got some channel to work. But when I do network test am I suppose to see server error? Error code 4. Either way this is a great start. Thx
