I don't know why, but sometimes my TVPad 4 will lock up if I don't turn off the tvpad for a number of hours. Even worse is when but it randomly factory reset itself randomly, causing me to reinstall all the apps again. Does anyone else have this problem? Currently it's in a well ventilated place and using the stock firmware.

Stock, so 5.054. Just now my dad was watching some HK show and it went to black screen, displayed "Erasing...", then it rebooted to the Welcome screen.

Are you using 2 router method with VPN? I don't have that problem.

One router for VPN, but this issue has been happening since before the whole DNS fiasco, and when I was forced to upgrade to TVPad. Is there warranty for these devices?

It happens without VPN either. VPN wasn't needed back in August time, so it was simply plugged into the router with no extra configuration. I wonder if the firmware is corrupted or I got a bad one.

It could be the firmware or a lemon you got.

If this keeps happening I guess it doesn't hurt to try upgrading to 5.06

Maybe I'll give 5.06 a try, but doesn't the newer firmware gets blocked depending on region or something like that? I thought the offical tvpad emails discourage upgrading the firmware.

If you don't live in US then upgrading is fine

Afterall your tvpad is crashing and its not really usable at this point

Yea I'm living in the US in MA, and using PIA vpn connected to a UK server with the 49 dns, steams fine. Since there's probably no warranty to begin with, has anyone taken apart their tvpad4? Maybe mine has a bad RAM or something.
