My TVPAD3 is totally lost ! It needs IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway and DNS to try to set up because it is totally Blank now !

Yes if you got the ??? apps install in your Pad2 then you can backup all your apps before you upgrade .But when you frimware page have all apps inside too, just do it othwise you only stay grey man stage to watch nothingX(
I just tried but got an error msg that says check server version failed. Uograde failed. Have flash drive connected. Am i doing something wrong? On my tv pad 2 menu, don't have the file management option. Darn it!

Ok plug the flash drive to Pad2 go to setting and select update system it should do it:)
Well i tried but still failed. I kept that one file that you mentioned. Do i need to add other files to the flash drive as well? I am losing hope. Maybe my pad is too old to handle??
I watched all of your tutorials and I am still not getting something right. Here are the steps I followed:
1.)bought 2nd router and changed its IP in configuration to be different from primary router. 192.168.2.1 also made sure primary is set for DOHC.
2.)bought lifetime service from VPN unlimited; emailed support for L2TP settings, got user name and password.
3.) 2nd router configuration set to L2TP, put user name and password.... connecting.... still connecting... nothing. Tried everything.
Can anyone please let me know if I'm missing something?

My parents have TVPAD3 in North Carolina US and they had enjoyed it for Korean programs for a year until it completely stopped working around Thanksgiving day.
I bought the 2nd router (TP-LINK TL-WR841N) and purchased 3 year VPN unlimited. And FYI, I have very little knowledge on this VPN and setting.
Anyway, I did the following things yesterday
1) Connected a cable from LAN of Router 1 to WAN of Router 2
2) Connected a cable from LAN of Router 2 to TVPAD
3) Activated the VPN unlimited purchase with my code and installed the VPN unlimited app on a tablet. (My parents computer has window 7 so the VPN program could not be downloaded to their main desktop)
4) Tried to configure Router 2 with the installation CD to get to the admin page. However, from the easy set up assistance program, one of the connectivity criteria did NOT pass. Network adapter enabled one passed but checking network status did not PASS.
5) Today, I realized that I need to email support team for user name and password for L2TP setting so I just emailed them, still waiting for their answer.
Im still confused with 3) and 4).
Q1) VPN unlimited can be installed any device at parents house? And also, when I enabled the app, it shows my real US IP address then, should I make it to some other countrys IP address and leave it forever? Should we turn on our tablet every time we want to watch TVPAD?
Q2) The reason that the configuration failed at 4) is because I didnt make the connection right? Should I make the #2) connection from LAN of Router 2 to the desktop instead of to TVPAD, when I need to finish configuration?
Im sorry for this lengthy questions. But if someone please educate and instruct me a little more, that will help my parents so much!

Hmm since I dont' have VPN unlimited (instead using PIA) not sure if this answer can be much of help,
for Q1, if you are using L2TP setting on router that's all you need nothing else need to be installed anywhere at home.
Q2, you'll want to get the vpn connection info to another country like Canada-ontario and use that for L2TP connection and use the username pw provided by vpn unlimited so that when your 2nd Router connects it will automatically connect to VPN to canada-ontario site after that anything using that router will be accessing internet as if you are on canada-ontario
I'm currently using PIA on my TP-LINK router using l2tp to canada toronto and also using 49.x dns and everything works fine as far as Korean channel
EDIT: just read that VPN unlimited does not support L2TP but PPTP and it's setting is not simple as it sounds but seems to have it's own posting about using it

put that in flashdrive without any folder and plug in pad2 go to file managerment to upgrad
