Temporary Jailbreak solution for USA user who updated to 5.06 FW

If you have older tvp4 Firmware, just change DNS should work. No need to do all these steps.


1) Set your DNS to 49.213.10.163
After you set it, you will get restricted message launching anything now. Don't panic!

2) Disconnect the power, Reconnect the power without the network plugged in.

3) Launch Apps store and plug in your network cable back.

4) Now you can select the apps that still in the apps store just run the apps from apps store. Do not exit apps store. Just run apps from apps store

5) If you Accentially exit apps store, just reboot the tvp4 and connect without network again. run apps store and then reconnect the network cable.

**Some apps are not in apps store anymore. So there's no way to run them with this method. etc???????BETV Plus, HKTV?????.

    To add:
    Leave USB drive with the ???????BETV Plus,
    > HKTV????? app in the back of tvp4
    and use one of the file manager to get to the apks and start install apk and run that apk right after the install. That way you can watch ???????BETV Plus,
    > HKTV?????. etc. in side the app Store.

    After changing my DNS and coldbooting into the app store, my apps won't load up. I plugged in the ethernet after loading the appstore, but nothing would come up, all the sections are blank.

    You have wait abit maybe a minute moving the cursor around can make it load faster ,for tvpad4.

    I waited for a couple minutes and nothing would load. I can update my apps though so the internet is definitely fine.

    For tvp4 fw 5.06 DNS is 183... . cold reboot into tvpad store. works in NYC
    For fw 5.054 DNS is 49...

    I changed it to the 183 DNS and it still won't load any apps in the app store. I'm in NYC also.

    I followed the instruction. my TVpad is still not working and restricted message still show. TVpad 4, M148 how do I make it work

    Detach Ethernet cable, cold reboot tvp4 by pulling and reconnect power cord. When tvp4 boots to desktop ,move cursor into to pad store. Reattach the Ethernet cable.
    Wait in the store for app icons appear. Then click on app icons inside the store to start app. You can also insert USB drive with the updated apps to work with one of the file managers in the system section of the store. ?????? is one of them . Download and run it to get to the app apps in the sub drive. Click on the app you want to run in the sub drive. You may get area restriction warning sign on some of the apps. Only way to run them is using the VPN method.
